Shopping in Russia

The souvenirs can be found in every region of Russia. Traditional and satirical Matryoshka dolls (wooden dolls within dolls) are widely available. Ceramics and glass, jewelry and toys may be bought in Moscow and St. Petersburg. The most popular purchases are Khokhloma wooden cups, saucers and spoons, painted in gold, red and black colors. National folklore character is reflected in Dymkovskaya Igrushka (pottery figurines), Gzhel porcelain, Tula samovar (typical metal container used to boil water for tea), and Vologda lace. Carved wooden dolls as well as other things like decks of cards are sold in Khizi. Among the items you should buy and take home are champagne, vodka and caviar.
